Fun stuff, riding with others, meeting others.

Many of you know that I was one of the founders of HourCar, car-sharing for the Twin Cities.  When I was starting it, talking to everyone, and so excited a number of my friends and family told me that it would never work.  I’m happy, pleased, in fact, that they were wrong.  It took an environmental award from MEI last year.  It wouldn’t have happened without the extraordinary hard work that Mary Morse continued and continues to this day.  I am in awe of her abilities on a regular basis.  Today I stumbled across another great, semi-informal, method of getting around.  I love the collaboration that these organizations provide.

NuRide is local to the Twin Cities and the others offer various long-distance transport or local transport.  I’m hoping that a combination of this and other niche methods of transportation we might have a better connected society someday!
